206 on 52 reg. 1.4 driving along abs light came on with air bag light. Then the dash lights went dim and headlights went off. The stop sign started flashing and hand brake light came on but not EML.
Then the rev counter went dead and the car lost totaly power as i was in the fast lane.
Cars hazord lights would not work and would not turn over.
Connected jump leads today for 30 seconds and it fired over fine battery was healthy and is charging at around 14.20 volts.
What on earth had made it just cut out

i had this out of the blue at about 110mph about 4 months ago, was pretty f**king scary! popped it in 4th and it bump started. still to this day have no idea what happened and has not happened again...

all of mines electrics went dead but the engine kept goin for about a mile and then that went as well would not start for the life of it

lol if it begins with F its fcked lol hence it being a fench car. Told the gf dont get one but she wanted it and on top of that she got it from gum tree lol

earth strap but where lol or can i get around the problem by adding an earth from the engine to the negative of the battery

People are too quick for their own good. As others have said the battery earth. I had a similar problem a long time ago.
