i have a 1.9d 51 plate car that i took the steering wheel off and fitted a momo wheel in its place. the air bag light came on and stayed on all time(put tape over so didnt see it) and when i turned key to start car it would beep twice at me to say air bag not fitted. now due to new mot rules i have fitted steering wheel with airbag to my car. now when i turn car on i have no beeping noise but air bag light is still on all time. how do i sort this problem. do i need plug laptop in to car and tell it that air bag now fitted?(had momo on for a year or so now) or is there a different way to make it go out. please can someone help me on this.

It would be good to put a diagnostic on that can tell you what circuit is faulty, then you can find out if the steering wheel is properly connected.
From what I've seen on here the wires break quite easily.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for an hour of so, then plugging it back in?

all sorted. i took car to the dealers to ask wot they think was so told me i needed new comm unit that would be over £200 from them. so took car home went work and as was stood in back up frezzer i fought i might try my airbag that been sat in shed for a year and see if that works. half hour later other airbag fitted. turned car on light came on then went out. result. think my dealership don't know anything as that is the 4th thing they got wrong
