ok I'm about to drop another 180 engine in my car and wondering if I should change the clutch before I do so? Also anything else I should change before hand? Obviously I'll change the timing belt and waterpump.

Cheers

Are you using the gearbox from the engine your transplanting or from your own car? If its from your own car, I would change the clutch, input shaft bearing and check the condition of the clutch fork.

GTi 180's are known for clutch judder.

Yeah gearbox from my own car. I'm getting a garage to do it for me so should I ask them to check the condition of these things before buying them? Also do you know if these items are expensive?

Cheers

Right no worries. Cheers for all the advice. Car has been off the road for 6 months so will be a joy having it back. Smile
