Hi all
I realise there are threads already on the unblock diesel filter message, however I don't think any cover my circumstances.
The diesel filter message has been on for over a year now, initially I had some choppyness whilst the car was idling however once I took it to a non-peugeot garage and they replaced the diesel filter it went. The garage however couldn't get the message to go off (they replaced some sensor at the cost of £20 as well).
I normally do an hour long commute to work, however after a period of town driving the anti-polllution fault came on. After some motor way driving this never came back again but the diesel filter signal remained. I have heard about this pink eolys fluid but I don't think this is an issue (I have not experienced any performance issues and get 67.5 mpg average for my commute).
My question really is that peugeot want to charge me £230~ for replacement of the fuel cap sensor, being that I have no performance issues I will probably not get this done, however I would like to know if anyone thinks this is a bad idea and whether this could lead to future issues?
My car has done 88,000, 54 plate, peugeot 206 gti hdi (1.6)
They also mention my cam belt will likely need replacing soon, my understanding is that if this goes it can do some serious damage?
Thanks for any help,
Much appreciated
Cheers
Tom

The cambelt deffinatlly needs changing sooner rather than later. Otherwise it could end up with a wrecked engine.
You need to get it code read to see what is actually producing the fault. Find somebody that has peugeot plannet. Your just over an hour away from me and I have it. We could maybe work something out if you wanted.

'UNBLOCK DIESEL FILTER'. The DPF system is fault and wants a look at. If Peugeot have dignosed an open circuit in the fuel cap, no eolys fluid will be getting to the DPF, causing it to block amd throw your EML on and the above message up on your MFD.
Get the fuel cap sensor replaced ASAP and request Peugeot reset the pressure sensors on the DPF befpre forcing a rengeration. If you don't, expect your wallet to empty very very quickly
Check your handbook for the timing belt intervals. May need done on age alone, but I thought the DV6 wouldn't need a belt change until over 100k.
