More 206 issues Sad

It seems to have developed a rattle when going over small bumps at all speeds. Its not linked to engine revs and is distinctly coming from the drivers side front. I think its coming from the bonnet area.

Its definitely not a drop link sound. Its not the engine mounts either. Is there anything else that tends to rattle on the 206 around this area?

Searching through this forum the battery cover was suggested but that is on the other side from memory.

Have tried to record said sound as below. Its hard to hear over the cabin noise, but with volume turned up you sould be able to hear the rattling in the background over small road bumps.

Any ideas welcome Smile

hehe indeed. I've always had some kind of interior rattle that i've not worried about.

However this noise is quite loud and has suddenly developed. Methinks something is actually broken this time Sad

You could book it in for a "pre MOT" test and ask them to check for the rattle. It shouldn't cost more than £25 and if you find a small independent garage they may even let you under the car with them - ask before booking. That is great not just for diagnosing the rattle but it will also let you have the best look for rust that is starting and needs attention that you will ever get.

Sounds like a good idea.

I think it might be the exhaust rattling, it seems a bit blowy too. I'll ask the garage to take a look via pre -MOT or some kind of health check deal.

Will report back! Thanks Smile
