Hi,

I'm replacing the headgasket on my daughters 206 (2002 1.4 8v) & when stripping it down found that the timing holes / marks on the flywheel and camshaft don't line up exactly. I've locked the flywheel ok but the hole in the camshaft pulley is a few degrees past the mark on the head and the pin wont go in. I've marked the exact position so can put it back in the same place but the question is - should i put it back in the same (apparently wrong) place or line it up where it should be ?

thanks

Dave

If your crank is lined up ok just move your cam where it should be .
dont move your crank with the head off ,if you have to move it a little bit wait till you put your head on.
i always mark the points with paint.

have a nice day

Might find the crank pulley has started to debond Wink

Also are you using the correct timing belt as there are 2 listed for the TU3 lump & one of them has 4 more teeth then the other.

Id say line the holes up for the crank and the cam pulley but take note of the 2 posts above !!
