Has anyone got a good engine sound blocker? or has anyone attempted to make anything for undeneath the bonnet? i have an hdi and its noisy as f**k!! Very Happy

on the hdi gti there is a sound deadining shield, it clips in, have a look for that.

All diesels are louder ... you can soundproof the bonnet and probably the bulkhead. The rest will be hard due to all the pipework, etc.

Something that might help is an undertray that I think some of the higher spec cars might have. The fitting holes are there on our 1.4 HDi but I've not yet bothered to track down a tray to fit.

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Have you got nothing under the bonnet? My HDi has a black sound proofing clipped to the underside of the bonnet.

But saying that my diesel is not too loud anyway....

yeh i have an under tray and the bonnet proofing, i guess its just the way it is! lol

I don't even know if mine has, I didn't notice when I serviced it, it doesn't even have an engine cover some plonker must have broke the screws and binned it, il be working on it next week if it doesn't have anything to sound proof il have to get my hands on one

I can supply the dampers for the covers and these ones don't break, have a look at my thread for details and all ask Rich he has a bought a set from me.
