is the creaking coming from the engine area?
sounds like something i had in the past where my tensioner on my cambelt was slacking, every time i turned steering wheel it creaked and screeched.

Is there any play in your wheels? Jack each side up snd see if you can wobble them as it could be the wheel bearing? Or could just be a joint in a wishbone that has seazed up?

If you've just had cambelt done, I'm pretty sure its the tensioner.
Did you notice any noises before you had cambelt done?
