Hi anyone fancy helping a pregnant lady in need?? lol
we had a new battery put in about 3 months ago and a week later the locking went so i took the car back and they tested the battery and all is fine.
so the car went in for a service and i asked them to look at the electrics he says he had the car apart and cant find the problem and its doing my head in
i have to unlock each door one by one and the boot wont open at all as i cant use the key to open it ( changed battery in key aswell)
the only way im gettin into the boot is though the back seats and i cant keep this up as im due a baby in 8 weeks time.
its a 2000 reg car
any ideas on fixing this without it costing me a load of money???
Thanking u

martyparty yours sounds like one of the lock mechs is buggerd bouncing locks are common fault do a search and you will find lots of info mate.
reypick i have the same probably on my 180 and really can't seem to find out quite what is wrong we have checked all the locks and been right through all the wires to see if there is a break in any of them and all seem fine so not quite sure what to advise.

Does it unlock if you use the passengers door?
If not, always check the fuse but I'd say it is the BSI

Hmm. I've checked all mechanisms. Boot and both doors. They just bounce back and forth. So no jamming or out. Anymore ideas?

i had the same problem 2 weeks after buying my puggy! i found out it was water just getting into the lock system.. if you sit in your car shut all doors and push down passenger side it locks then pull it up its fine do the same with the drivers side if that works fine then its your boot sensor thats gone you can get one from the scrappy easy. obviously if the passenger or driver side does nothing just locks that door not the others then you know full well which door it is
