Could you feel the difference in the torsion bars by the way? Thinking of going from 19mm to 22mm

2bh Harry not realy as I had 180s before but hopefully with this new ARB the back end will feel much better. I mean when I did all the bars at the same time years a go I felt the difference yes but as ive done the bars then doing the ARB later haven't realy noticed yet.
But on a track car that's not doing any road use go 23mm as Edward says it's to harsh for road but tracks are smooth so will be spot on.

Ah yeah good point forgot the old ones were the same
I know mate but this one is going to be my daily driver, 19mm is just too thin for track use. I've looked at the load rates further and somewhere between 20 - 21mm is probably better, after all going for 155lb springs at the front. I guess it's better to try and match them as much possible.
18mm 90lb/inch
19mm 110lb/inch
20mm 135lb/inch
21mm 165lb/inch
22mm 195lb/inch
23mm 235lb/inch
24mm 280lb/inch
25mm 330lb/inch

How have you worked out those rates? Are those wheel rates?

Figures are from Sandy Brown, yes those are at the wheel
Having said that the front is much lighter, so obviously the rear needs less spring rate

Fitted the bar today bit of a coparesent of 21mm(standard)-gti180 (22mm) ithink-24mm
I do all my car work at my parents as all my stuff is in my garage there so give it a bit of a 'test' run on the way back to my house and I could defenately feel the difference as I only had the standard 21mm fitted so 1st impressions is a good one.

Standard gti rear ARB is 21mm. GTi 180 uses a 22mm ARB.
