Just wanted a bit of a advice before I let the car go too cheap.

When I'm driving I get a ticking/strong vibrating sound when I take my foot off the accelerator and it goes when I push the clutch down, it goes when driving normally to just literally when rolling basically?

I assumed it was the gearbox and the garage told me I'm looking around £400 to rebuild the gearbox.

Is he right or just trying take the p**s?

If it was the gearbox it would do it all the time I recon clutch the 180 is known for snapping/brakeing the clutch bearing.

not allways mate the 180's are known for clutch judder pulling off then they are fine when rolling and changing gears. both of mine have had to have a new clutch fitted, seems to be the thrust bearing trys to eat its way through the pressure plate.

Tell me about it, last 2 mot's have cost me £500 one because the bloke who refurbed my wheels damaged all the locking nuts do had to drill them out and ended up having to change the hubs.

So I'm lookin at a fair bit.

really hard to say fella if its just a clutch kit then around 125 ish for the kit then fitting, if its a new or s/h box then the labour cost will be about the same but you will need to get a box aswell and i have no idea what they go for.
