recently in this wet weather i've started getting an intermittent high pitched screeching from what seems like the power steering pulley and at the same time the battery light flashes.
after spraying the pulley with WD40 it stops for a while.
Are the bearings on the PS prone to going?
or would the aux belt tensioner cause the battery light to flash if the belt wasn't tensioned right?
Any help would be appreciated
its a 99 2.0 HDI by the way
Thanks

Sounds like your belt is slipping but I wouldn't put WD40 anywhere near there because
you can make matters worse.
