No, you should insure all mods made to your car otherwise if you crash you will not be covered and if you hit someone else you f*** them because your insurance wont pay out.

Its never going to be quick, save your money for a bigger engined car.

EDIT: should have said all performance mods will increase your insurance.

That won't give you more power will just help the engine breath better.

Anything you do to get more power will effect your insurance as you will need to inform them of the changes you have done.

All so moved to the correct section as this is not really a problem.

Dont be silly, less weight = less weight = better power to weight ratio not more powerz Laughing

It still = a slow 1.1 though.

I used that panel filter for like a month, didn't notice any difference at first. Then I took it off because I realized my fuel consumption had raised. When I put the stock one back on, I noticed that the car was a bit less responsive but it wasn't worth keeping it in my opinion.

A 17 year old driving a 1.1 206 & you want more power Laughing

You know it will end in a total loss claim sooner or later.

Build up your no claims bonus, save some money & buy a more powerful car after a few years.

I have a 1.1 this is my first year, and its quick enough for the first year coming up to my second year and ill keep it for one more year then upgrade. should think about doing the same, modding your car will just make your insurance go up more and more and if its high as it is why bother?. if you want to go fast borrow your parents car for a week or something Razz i borrowed my dads Golf GTi edition 30 and LOVED IT! Very Happy

Want more power ? there's a few choices

Mod your car, Declare Mods = Pay more insurance.
Buy a bigger car = Pay more insurance.

Get pulled by a Jet = more power = no insurance increase (well at least I don't think that it states in the insurance policy that being pulled by a jet is an issue)

Overall matie if you want more power be prepared to pay more insurance. To be fair anyone that mods a 1.1 is a conker.

Why spend money on modding a 1.1 when that same money could have been spent on modding a GTI 180 ?

As others said save money, Then buy a bigger car.

But before all that, learn how to handle the car and learn how to drive efficiently... Just because you have passed your test doesn't mean you are a good driver, nothing is more important than experience.

Pop a few moth-balls (Naphthalene) into the fuel reservoir.
It will go quite nicely for quite a while. Thumb Up

I've modded a 1.1 and don't regret any of it Confused but i guess you mean performance mods, in which case I agree. I'd never try and get "more power" out of my 1.1, I'll just wait and have a quicker car when i'm older/less likely to be raped for insurance, OP should do the same as everyone else has said Thumb Up

edit: I suppose coilovers and exhaust are "performance mods" but I didn't get them to improve performance

you won't gain any power from a 1.1 even with an ecu remap you'll only gain a few bhp and not alot of torque. my suggestion stick with the little 1.1 then get a 1.4/1.6 in a few years
Ford Focus RS in white of course Wink
