Picked this up from a 307 this afternoon, want to use it in the 206 as an extra 12v socket.
Could someone tell me what each cable is for?
I know the green/yellow cable is earth/-v but what is the purple and brown one for?
The brown one is thinner that the others..

I'd expect the purple to be for +12V to the the heater / center contact (as it''s heavier gauge). That and the ground should be all needed for a power outlet.
The brown might be for illumination - is there a bulb in the socket?
Edit:
According to this diagram there' s a bulb in the cig lighter (see object 98)
Looks like the bulb is lit when lighter is pressed in/heating (which explains me never having noticed it) Looks like the third wire connects the bulb to ground (most likely the BSI controlled delayed/dimming ground).

No.. there isnt a bulb in the socket, I suppose the plug is a generic plug for a 12v socket which could have illumination.

Ack... must be really tired... That 3rd wire doesn't go to ground, it's a +12V feed (the other end of the bulb is attached to the ground wire).

From wiring a house plug perspective. Yellow/green is your earth, brown is power and that purple one is negative. Before playing with electrics d/n battery and put a fuse on the positive wire.

It's French so nothing is logical. Check continuity with a multimeter before making any connections.
