advice needed to remove crankshaft pulley !! tried leaving in gear with handbrake on still just turning engine and dragging back wheels! is there any way to lock the flywheel to stop engine turning ? have thought of removing starter motor but acess is grim !!thought this would be easy job any ideas? its a 14hi

Impact gun should shift it.

There are other ways BUT I dont feel confident sharing on here as it could lead to serious injury / damage if carried out incorrectly / somethings goes wrong.

as above, wheel off and an impact gun, few seconds later it's ready to come off.

1.4 hdi is that? You can put a bolt through the bellhousing into a hole in the flywheel. It's on the sump side of the gearbox a few inches up. Can't remember the bolt size, might be 10mm, but once you've found it a bit of trial and error should work.
Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

I did it with a 24" breaker bar ... and I've posted how to lock the crank at 4:07pm yesterday ...
Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
