Hi everyone.
Apologies if this has been dealt with in another area...
I have had my 206 1.4hdi for a couple of months now and it's been fine until now. I serviced it about 6 weeks ago, replacing the oil and filter, the air filter and diesel filter. Again, it was absolutely fine. Yesterday on my way home, I noticed a marked loss in power. I drive up and down the A2 all the time and near the dartford crossing, there are a couple of places where there is an incline - I was dropping below 50mph with full throttle applied and still losing speed! Coming over the QE2 bridge I am dropping to 35 mph with full throttle - I don't understand...
I have also noticed I don't hear the familiar whine from the turbo anymore, could it be that? Or injectors?
Going back to last week, The car would not start - which was a new problem. I called the RAC and the guy operated the diesel pump under the engine cover - she started straight away! He told me that one of my injectors was leaking and I need to get them checked. Since then, I have had to operate the pump myself about 4 times to get her started. Don't know if the two are related, any guidance will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The starting problem is a more than likely the common fault for the air box to chafe on the plastic fuel pipes that run underneath the air box. Ive replaced them on three different cars at work. What happens is the air box eventually creates a pin hole in the pipe allowing air into the system which in turn allows the fuel to drain back towards the tank.

Ok thanks, I will remove the air box and check the pipes...
Is there any way of checking whether the turbo is at fault, or the injectors for the power loss?

Further development...
I went to start the car this evening and it wouldn't start... as described before. I would usually just operate the pump about 20 times and then it would start. This time, after pumping 20 times, I noticed bubbles still in the pipe so I kept pumping until eventually the bubbles disappeared. Guess what? It drove perfectly after this! I can hear the turbo again and the power is back...
I will definitely check those pipes tomorrow, sounds like air is getting in somehow. Perhaps because of the air in the system, somehow there was not adequate fuel delivery hence the lack of power?? Still don't know what the link is...
I'll report back when I check those pipes, thanks again richpowell91.

Ok so I've taken the air box off and found a damaged pipe - hopefully this will be the cause of both my issues! I will try and include a picture of this pipe.
Does anyone know where I can get a spare? I have rung a couple of peugeot dealers but they sell the whole pipe network as one unit for £131.... Lot of money for a pipe!
The damaged one is the one from the diesel filter to the primer hand pump...
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Problem solved!
Well I couldn't find a 1.4hdi at the scrappy, so I reluctantly bought from peugeot, you get all the pipes including the primer pump and fuel temp sensor...
Took me ages to replace because there is a connector right at the back of the engine and you have to work blind... but it's done now and she drives beautifully! I really did not think a pinhole in the fuel pipes could cause such loss of power, but then again, what do I know??
Thanks for your replies, much appreciated!
