I have a 1.2 peugeot 206 52 plate that keeps constantly draining the battery and makes the battery dead in less than a week which means I then have to fully charge it each time via a trickle charger.
The car is fitted with an amp in the boot that is plugged in but does not work and is not currently earthed which I believe is the problem so I'm going to remove it. It has a red lead that goes from there to the hood of the car and connects to a fuse box by the battery. Could this be the fault, if so would it be safe to remove the cable with a dead battery plugged in, then undo the red cable and pull it through from the amp end to get it out.
Below is a picture of where the red lead is connected to which can be seen at the bottom of the picture.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

never heard of a 1.2 206 before
I would just disconnect the battery (properly) and then remove the amps power cable, give the battery a good charge and put it back together.
Are you sure the battery isnt duff? think you could take them to kwik fit or some respectable motor factor and they would check the battery health for you.

you know what I meant xD
I doubt the battery is duff, it used to run fine and never drained until I unearthed the amp, had insurance cancelled as someone tried to use their no claims on their own car and this as a named driver *sigh* so it's been sitting on the driving for a few months and started up every so often and taken for a quick run and then went a tad funny with the amp unearthed (whoopsie).
I just wanted someone to check I wasn't completely crazy before I went about doing it xD

Managed to unplug all the crap on the amp and fed the cables back to the passenger footwell, I pulled the power lead out completely and have that now disconnected, can't quite see how i'd manage to completely pull up the material on the footwell and get behind the console to remove the connectors to the radio now so have those laying about and my battery on charge...
