I have a Peugeot 206 1.4 hdi...
Recently when I drive it, when I put it into 3rd gear there is power loss, then gradually builds up, 1st and 2nd gear are fine. What could the problem be? I am thinking the gearbox oil needs topping up, but would like a 2nd opinion..

what rev? any smoke?
even there is no gear oil in the box it would not causing power loss.

Does it lose power at about 3000 rpm?

its a diesel? its not supposed to be shifting like a gti :/ how bad is the power loss ??
