Had a very lucky escape on Saturday afternoon.
Driving along in slow moving traffic, applied the brakes and the pedal went right down to the floor but I did just manage to stop.
Pulled over to the side and pressed the pedal down again and nothing.
Walked round the car and on the front nearside was a pool of brake fluid - the hose had burst !
Managed to get it to my very nearby home and took the hose off only to find that the armoured stainless coil around the pipe had actually 'shaved' the rubber from the hose to the point where it burst. I also found out it was the correct hose and that it was also fitted correctly. That's frightening.
Bought a pair of front hoses today and will fit them when the weather improves.
I do not know if this is a common fault but would suggest you push back the spring from each end of the hose and have a very close look to see if this is happening to yours.
Incidentally, I tested to see whether the hose rubbed on the strut or tyre etc and it did not.
Not a nice experience

Had the same thing happen on my 106, both rear drums failed and leaked out all the fluid, it is a scary moment.

it should always break on other side as they work like that when they fail . wouldnt want to go far like that tho

Mine came as an advisory for MOT, ended up replacing with HEL ones now. I do now make the effort to whip the car up on the ramp on the odd occasion to check everything around...

Its a diagonally split brake system, you would have still have at least 1 front brake & the opposite rear brake to stop the car.
You also have the handbrake & running it down through the gears.
Nothing listed on VOSA recalls for brake hoses on the 206.
