Hi all,
I have a problem with my passenger side electric window where it is only working intermittently.
I have opened up the door, removed the motor and tested in on it's own and it appears to be functioning fine. When it is reattached to the gearing (probably wrong word but the blue circle in the image) it will work okay the first time, however it then seems to get stuck. When I press the window button I can hear the motor try to engage (clicking sound) however the window doesn't move.
After a while the motor becomes very hot - so I am predicting that maybe the gearing (blue circle) has become jammed in some way?
What's also strange is that if I press the button for the window once, the motor seems to continuously try to engage, which I presume is because it doesn't think it has moved the window far enough?
Sorry for my poor terminology but any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'll be happy to provide more info on request.
If image doesn't work, link is postimage.org/image/l5kfh5si7/
Cheers
Tom
