What's the normal running temperature when doing a 20 minute trip (Each way)
Mine barely gets to 50oC, but when it's idle, it climbs rapidly..
Normal?

Seams normal. The engine relies on air flow through the radiator to cool it down, therefore when moving it takes slightly longer to heat up than when stood still. The speed the engine warms up also depends on the outside air temperature. My old 205 could be running for 30 mins on the motorway in freezing conditions and I wouldn't get hot air through the blowers, and in summer sun it went to max temp and the fan cut in. As long as you aren't seeing any warning signs then I wouldn't worry about it.

Right, cheers mate.
I know about airflow and such forth, but nearly every other car I hear of gets upto temperature and doesn't move.
Just curious is all

Mine can fluctuate at anything from 50 - 90 on a run. Was on motorway other day (first long run since I got the car) and temp seemed low, but once I slowed down on A roads it began to rise to what i was used to. Just keep doing your weekly level checks and should be OK.

it depends on what engine you have, diesels take longer to heat up, the 1.4 8v runs hotter etc,
but generally whats said above is correct, my 1.4 sits at 90 when idleing and anything from 70-80 when driving depending on outside air temp and how fast im going etc, they do fluctuate quite a bit during a journey

Mine takes about 5-10 miles to warm up to 85 degs at this time of year at A road speeds. On the motorway it goes up to 90 and stays there til I get back on A roads, then it goes down to 80-90. I wouldn't worry about your temp unless it stays at 100 all the time. I'd be more worried if it didnt warm up at all as that indicates a stuck open thermostat.

Yeah, I know, thanks. I think it has to do with an abs problem I just fix, I ll check tomorrow. Normaly it would stay at 90 but sometimes it used to go to 100 (hopping that "used to" will be tru tomorrow)

going down a road at 30, will sit above 80 below 90.

I've never seen mine go above 90. I was under the impression that the fan kicks in at 90, not 110.

Hi, I am glad to say that after the fix of the rear speed information problem, the temp now would stay between 80 and 90. I would not have thought that abs had something to do with engine temp

Oh right. How weird..
My temperature just keeeeeeeeps on rising when I'm stopped. It's bezerk!
I don't want to leave it because I don't want it to actually overheat. The other day, I was stuck in traffic, and it seemed to stop at 90oc for a bit, then it began to rise again, so I opened the vents and it kept it at a steady 90

On the Peugeot 206 you will find if you take off the front grill
and on the cowling infront of the radiator just to the left of the fan
there is a plastic inspection compartment held on by three plastic type
push in rivets behind this panel are two relays green ones they
should be the wires that go in to the plugs where them relays are
corrodeand break at my guess more than likley the bottom
relay will be the one with the broken wire a thick White one
the top relay plug will probably just need cleaning up new relays will be
required also a bit further down on this cowling from this compartment
where these relays are is a resistor it has a 10mm bolt holding it in
this resistor may need changing the best way to get to these is by
taking the bumper off but you will need to take the headlights out first
