I have a 2002,206gti,light silver colour and ive decided to colour code the rub strips all round-both sides+front+rear but im not sure how to get them off without damage and im not sure how to prep the rubber and what paint/primer/finish/techniques to use to get the best results?
Would it be easier to mask the bumpers and sides or do they come off and go back on easily/well? it looks like someones had the rear off already as it doesnt sit back on right and pops off a bit now and then.
What is the best primer and paint and how do i get the best results?....cheers all...

Cheers for the reply mrziggars but im sure there's a difference between metal painting and rubber/plastic painting?im sure i will use your advice next time i paint metal and need a good finish but as i said you have to treat rubber/plastic differently to normal panels etc.....you didnt paint that mirror tho mate?
Any specific plastic/rubber painting tips would be greatly appreciated..thanks.
