2002 peugeot 206 1.4 auto
The car drives fine and has been recently serviced but the speedo and odometer are not working?
ive taken the car to a garage that specializes in french cars thinking it was a faulty vehicle speed sensor, but the mechanic removed the sensor and somehow turned the spindle manually and got the speedo to function? he used the computer diagnostic tool but could find no faults
that airbag light is also on and the gear selector display is showing the car in park even when i am driving (not sure if its related)
any ideas would be gratefully appreciated?

Hmmmm, Does sound like another sensor confusing the ECU, Maybe the gear position sensor? If its telling the ECU its in Park it may block the the speedo sensor info as it feels it doesnt need it.
Thats a good one
