I'm new to the boards so a big Hi to everyone
I've had a 1.6 xsi (04) for about 3 months now and think its great, It's just had a major service and feels all the better for it.
Anyway, A little niggle since day one: The climate control thingy almost always resets its self when left overnight.
So I leave it at night at 28c on 'ECO' and it starts in the morning on 'AUTO' with AC on and blowing really cold air when its about -2c outside lol
Is there anyway I can stop it doing this? As I think it utilises the AC pump each time and it will be running out of gas a lot..?
Kind regards.

i'm not sure how to stop it happening but i wouldnt worry about it using up all your gas, my a/c is still very cold after 3 years with this little quirk every morning.

When you set it, start car 2 more times, it should then set it, funny only reading about this other day, in car manual, sorted mine out.

wooooow!! there is a fix!
Can you only set the eco/ac part or a temperature and fan speed?
so you set to the required temp, turn car off (key out i assume) start it again, off again, start again and then can drive off?

Just leave it on AUTO & change the temp setting.
PSA climate control is one of the best systems you can get, its just a shame a lot of people on here don't actually understand how the system works.
Mine's been set on AUTO since 2005.

Quote from manual. press the AUTU button. The system automatically adjusts the atmosphere inside the vehicle in accordance with the temperature that you have chosen. To do this it controls the temperature, the flow, the distribution and the intake of air as well as the air conditioning.
Note: for your comfort the settings are retained between two start ups of your vehicle if the temperature in the passanger compartment has not changed significantly; otherwise operation resumes in automatic mode.
Mine works for above as its ln a garage overnight, and presume the temperature hasn't dropped significantly.
The manual also states if you switch off the system with the off button, when you switch back on, (with the off button) it reactivates the system with the values set before it was switched off. This seems the best solution as its not dependant on the temperature drop.

The only problems in this thread are several people not actually understanding how climate control works
