Ok before I buy stuff I just want to make sure I'm right in my assumptions

1.) I CAN buy a second hand circuit board so long as the number printed on it matches my original??

2.) I need a VIRGIN UNUSED transponder chip??

3.) My car is an '03 206CC so I assume I need an ID46 chip??

4.) Then I'll need someone to program the new key to my car with PP2000?

Hopefully I've assumed correctly?
If not then what's wrong??

Yes I own a CC and I'm neither gay or a hairdresser!!

1. Yes, although IIRC Lee was looking at the numbers printed on the board and found that they didn't make sense. The difference in boards is more due to fog lights and deadlocking.

2. Yes

3. Yes

4. Yes. You will also need the security code to enable the pairing to take place. If the ECU?BSI has been replaced in the past, you need the code from the donor car.

Some BSIs only allow a certain number of remote fobs to be paired with them. I cannot have a spare remote but have the 2 original factory keys. If you already have 1 remote, you may be in the same boat. All depends on how the car was set up at the factory.

Mine has fogs and deadlocks
Hopefully so long as the numbers on the board match then they should be ok
Security code is a pain as I don't have the card
AFAIK the BSi/ECU are the originals
I only got one key when I bought the car that's a plip key
Is there anyway of checking that I can have a spare programmed?
Don't really want to buy stuff if it's pointless doing so

When I checked on servicebox for mine, it said I had 1 standard and 1 plip. Lee confirmed this when he came to code a spare for me a couple of years ago.

If you needed to get a spare, and you can't have 2 plips, just get an empty case with key blade and program a chip to go in the case. Granted you won't have remote locking, but better than being without a way of starting the car.

Just looked on Service Box and it says '2 HF Plip keys'
Good idea about a standard key though!!
