Okay, so my 206 GTI HDI has been sitting for a month or so and the battery died, got the car jump lead started in one go and runs fine.

I took it to the garage yesterday to have the door replaced after being majorly dented by a (beep). Now I have the car back, the central locking has gone all hay wire.

(From the key) when I unlock the car it locks itself again straight away. Then when it stops after a bit of clicking unlock, the key does not work the c/l at all. Start the car and come out, then it will lock from the key. Its acting temperamental from the lock button on the dash also.

Could this be anything to do with the flat battery or could it be the e/w & c/l have not been fitted properly with the new door and causing a connection problem??

Any help greatly appreciated folks!!

Thanks
Gary

If in doubt flat out !

Have you checked the battery does not need replacing? Could also be one of the locks. Think you can test it. Something to do with the interior light won't work on the door with the faulty lock.

Think you can also try a BSI reset.

I am sure these are some of the suggestions I have seen on here by some of the more knowledgable members...

Take it back to the people that fixed the door and get them to fix the locking system. It is their problem not yours.

p**s poor that they didn't check this before handing the car back to you.
