Hi All

I changed my diesel pump on my 206 1.9d LX 2001 last week.

Since changing the pump i am getting a rather loud diesel knock now.

When setting the timing I locked the engine up, Flywheel, Cam and pump.

After all was tight i turned engine over with a spanner about 8 times and was able to lock all the points back up again.

What could it be.

Cheers

N

The strange thing about this problem is that it is not all the time

When u start it, it sounds ok and then a we rev and it ok then the knock would happen.

Could it be a faulty injector

Cheers

I did get the injectors tested and they said they were fine.

Today i disconnect the electrical connecting plug to injector 1

It made no difference to the engine. Yesterday for about 5 minutes i had no knocking at all while driving then it started again.

Has same the morning for about 2 mins and no knocking.

I also disconnected the plug going to the regulator (at the side at bottom of pump - lucas pump) on the diesel pump, not the stop solenoid, it did not make one bit of difference if connected or not.

I put a multi-meter on the pins and i am seeing 12v on one and .87 on the other. i do not know if this correct reading.

Thanks

N
