well the last fortnight as been a expensive one, booked car in for mot, waited for car at garage only for it to fail on a drop link and a brake flexi on its lat legs, so i re-booked car in for next day to have work done and re mot'd £130 later i'm happy...
2 days later whilst driving to work i could hear a grinding noise and a rattle when i was driving over 40, so back to garage we go only to be told they heard that noise when doing the mot on the exhaust gas test, but the mechanic thought it was a loose cover vibrating.
so out of piece of mind i bought new cambelt kit and water pump as they were due a change costing £98 good job i did as it turned out the rattling and grinding was a knackered cam pulley the securing plate had broke away and started cutting into the cover and every 6" was a chunk of cambelt missing garage quoted me another £212 to fit new belt kit and pump and supply new cam roller...
and to top things today my back box dropped off where it joins the middle box had rotted right through so another £30 for a new middle box using some discount codes on euro car parts then another £30 to get it fitted as i just dont have the tools or space at home on the drive
so all in all just over a fortnight ive spent £500 on the car plus another £84 filling her up so pretty much skint until pay day now
the joys of owning a car and never having any money lol

It seems strange them not picking up the exhaust on the mot, wouldn't of thought it would deteriorate that quick.
