I'm getting a whinning noise when I accelerate in every gear. Starting to think if it is something serious like the gear box, clutch or something, it definatly sounds like a transmittion whine.

What could it possibly be??

I had the same problem, but I found, when the wife is not in the car there is no whining at all when I accelerate. Mr. Green

haha, just need to know really because I've just had the car and it has 3 months warrenty so need an idea so i can get it fixed.

Ive got the same problem on my 206 1.4 lx, any info would be helpful !, someone told me it could be something to do with the gearbox but it still makes the noise in neutral

I would say its the gear box.

99% gearbox. Get it replaced or full refund under warranty.
