Not much of a problem as such, I'm getting some steering issues and was wondering if the droplinks that were recently supplied by Peugeot are the right length.
I've measured mine in at 34cm long (centre to centre) but the ARB hangs below the subframe approx 40-50mm and in my experience, they are usually level with the subframe.
I haven't lowered by car in anyway but I'd appreciate if someone could confirm this length with their GTi.

There all the same length, and the ARB does sit slightly below the subframe. Whats up with the steering?

Thanks for that Steve.
I got noticeable crabbing at full lock, either way.
Tracking has been checked and is spot on.
I changed a driveshaft for a Peugeot reconditioned one way back but I've had it into ATS and another tyre place now, they're both baffled as me.
Ive had both wheels off and wishbones feel solid and the track rod ends don't feel loose at all.

Maybe there's someting broke in the diff in your gbox?

Sure it's the front that's out and not the rear axle starting to fail.

Considering its crabbing on full lock, I fail to see how the rear axle would cause this.
I am starting to think about the planetry diff in the gearbox.
Top mounts seem fine to me.
The car has only done 50k though.

Maybe it's just me not understanding how you have described it, but when someone tells me a car is crabbing, I expect it to be going sideways down the road and the driver having to turn the steering wheel to keep the car going in a straight line.

OK I'll describe it differently.
On full lock, the tyres are knocking bad like the car is continuing to go in a straight line.
What would you call that!?

Understeer.
If it's happening when you turn left and right then get the tracking rechecked.
It can also be caused by poor quality tyres, high tyre pressures and too much speed for the corner and road conditions.
Does the steering wheel centre itself without you touching it after you go round a bend? If not, this could be a sign that the Ackerman angles are out, something that can cause understeer, but this is normally in one direction (I can't stand that band) only. If this is out then it would require further investigation by a garage with the correct alignment equipment to pinpoint the fault.

If both links are the same it won't affect the steering. If they differed in length it would be felt. Anybody would strubble to fit two different links though.

I didn't want to use the word understeer as that would have referred to the car properly aligned but loosing grip due to excessive speed or harsh steering angle during cornering.
I don't regularly corner on full lock at speed to say if its a speed issue but this happens even when in crawling (during a 3 pointer for example)
I've got Goodyear F1 GSD3s fitted all round and checked the pressures the other day at a nice 32 PSI.

Thanks for the tip Edward. I was wondering what a strubble is until I probably guessed that struggle would be your intention and autocorrect has struck again.
Something which the ATS muppet spotted was that the front ARB has shifted slightly to one side and he reckoned it was that. We're talking 3-4mm though as the difference can be seen by the fresh rub mark thats now exposed from the ARB rubber mounts.
Probably used by me when I changed the drop links.
