Hi everyone, new to the forum. Had an MG but now moving to a Pug!
Anyway, I have a strange sound/squeak coming from the gearbox (I assume)
It is noticeable when idle when the engine is cold, as well as when accelerating the whine gets faster. However the sound disappears in 3rd gear onwards.
Any ideas? I thought clutch release bearing but it seems that it isn't clutch related.
Thanks

I had a similar issue to this with mine and thought it would be the release bearing but after changing that and the clutch it didnt go away so I had to get the box refurbed!

top up the oil first then go from there, if the noise goes away in the higher gears i wouldnt of thought it would be the clutch

How hard is it to replace cluth bearings or how much would it roughly cost to have done?
