well,it took long enough,but finally got the GTi back last night,had two trips out in it and so far so good. no more EML/injector faults blinding me or car doing an impression of a giants vibrator on turbo mode
now just hoping there was no valve damage or any gradual damage/burning going to occur............

yup! though im waiting to try get copy of the invoice from the dealer because the garage saying all they did was adjust the cambelt a tooth and didnt touch anything else,but even the judder it had at idle from cold is now virtually non-existant. thought it had gone but if ya pay attention ya can just about notice it. not managed to comp test it yet but no obvious sings of problems
