Hi all,
Recently bought 15" alloys for my 03plate 1.1 206.
I checked many alloy fitting guides on the net before I bought them but seems that when I put them on the tire is half a inch (probably less) away from either side of the wheel arch. seems a bit close and does not look right, or safe.
I am in the process of getting the pictures of them to image shack to post, but here is the ebay link in the mean time... Ebay

Dimensions of my original wheels : 175x65 R14 82T
Dimensions of the new alloys: 195x65 R15 91H

I realise that I will have to get the tires changed, two are scrap anyway.
But I have no clue what to ask for at the local garage, don't want to seem like a idiot.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You need 195/55 or 50 R15 for the alloys.

i got the standard peugeot fordre alloys there 15" that come on the 1999 gti's and recommended tyre size is 185 - 55 - 15, But if i were to buy new tyres id go for a 195 - 50 - 15 as there is alot more choice in that size, and seems to be cheaper as well

AFAIK 185/55 15 are only used on early 206, some Renault's & some older Rover's, that's why there more expensive.

Odd thing is the brand new Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyre is actually made in that size when very few other tyre companies bother.
