My 1.4 2001 8v petrol 206 brakes work but the feel through the pedal feels poor. I have renewed the brake fluid but they still feel the same, on the last mot they told me that front drivers side brake was sticking slightly.
I brought a set of groved discs and new pads, plus some front calipers from a 2002 car that has only done 25k. I have stripped the calpiers down, repainted them and cleaned and put them back with new seals and dust covers.
I have put it all back together today, and re-bleed it all and it still feels the same with no improvment.

Sounds like you got air in the system when you changed the fluid? Or an issue with I assume the drums on the rear?

Check the rear brake shoes. If the auto adjusters have stopped working or the rear shoes have failed, it can give you a soft pedal.

The car was bleed with a self bleed kit that you put on the tyre at 20 psi . Its been bleed starting from the rear furthest from brake master cylinder working to front and finishing at one nearest to master cylinder. They were bleed and no air bubbles are showing, i have not ever touched the back brakes, only bleed them.

How do you check if auto adjusted have stopped working, think going to have to pull drums off to clean up and check.

You need to clarify what you mean by "the feel through the pedal feels poor." Do you mean the pedal feels soft but pumping it makes it harder or does the pedal feel "wooden" in other word the pedal is rock hard but not much stopping power.
A soft pedal is any of the following - air in the system, lack of working rear adjusters, failing master cylinder, a leak or, where used, very poor condition flexible hoses.
A rock hard pedal with little stopping power is sticking front callipers / pistons or lack of servo assistance.

Maybe it's normal for the brakes to feel like that.

The brakes work, the pedal keeps falling slowly when you have your foot on it. Perhaps a servo problem.

Sounds like a hydraulic issue, like rear cylinders or master cylinder.
