Start to drive speedo rises as should then drops off then as I accelerate it goes up to ten and then drop ffs , Iv had this problem before I took off rear abs sensors but they are linked right ?

All other dials work as should Wink

Car is a gti x reg 2000 plate

ABS has nothing to do with the speedo on a non plexed 206.

Have the drivers door on the safety catch & drive the car up to about 10mph.

If the interior light flashes while moving then the speed signal to the BSI is ok.

I would reckon this fault will be the speedo drive inside the instrument cluster.

When slowing down does the engine revs dip a bit low? That's a sign that the ECU isn't getting a speed signal.
