About a year ago I put X-1R in my MA5 gearbox and I must admit I like what it did.
Have any of you used this stuff, or Slick50 type products and where (engine, gearbox)?
Any input would be appreciated.

I used to use Slick 50 all the time in my Ford OHC engines due to the age of them. I did notice a reduction in cam wear, but have no idea if this was down to the additive or because I was using a decent brand oil. That was in the days where you could buy 1 gallon of Comma oil for £4.95 and you'd be lucky to pay more than £10 for a gallon of Castrol.
I put some Redex Oil treatment in the TU3JP a few weeks ago. Haven't really noticed any difference but time will tell at the next oil change.
I have always thought that these kind of things might just have the placebo effect. I know Castrol bought out Magnatec which was supposed to coat the internals, so was there any need for Slick 50. They still got added together.
I've never stuck anything in the gearbox, although I once say a demonstration with a cut away box which showed all the gears coated in an additive. You could turn the gears by hand and see the stuff trying to cling to itself, it looked a bit like syrup. The theory was that it would still be on the gears next time you start the car. What it was like when it heated up, I have no idea.
