I have a 1.4hdi 206 and when i turn the ignition on a lot of smoke pours out. My injector seals are gone and my turbo is slightly damaged. I took off my intake to turbo pipe and found that oil was smeared all inside. Is it wise to replace the engine or get a new one? Im thinking of a 2.0hdi or even to be different, a 1.7td isuzu from a mk3 astra

You sure its not the turbo that needs replacing, rather than the engine.

Yeah my mum owned the car for 8 years its got 183k miles on it and even though it smokes a lot upon start up it really never misses a beat. Had a major overhaul back in december with a new axle, fuel filter, engine sensors, handbrakes cables and brake lines. New pads and discs last month along with 4 new tyres. New turbo pipe going on tomorrow and injector seals might be getting done next week as I went and bought new seals
