When it comes to tyres you get what you pay for. Speaking from my biking days I'll quote Steve Parish, ex Grand Prix motorcycle racer and commentator.....

"That tiny contact patch of rubber is all that separates you from disaster"

Many moons ago I raced production bikes on road legal rubber, you soon learn about tyre quality. The same applies to cars. My tyres may be over-rated for my 1.4 but in reality that just adds to the safety margin. I may never need that safety margin but it's nice to know it's there
