Hi everyone. Some of you who followed my previous post will surely know my engines shot. Its a pre-plex 1999 1.1. A friend of mine has a 1.4 engine lying around and told me he could swap the bottom of it on my engine. Said as I was a friend, he could make it for £100 and a couple of beers and cigarettes. What you think? Is it just that simple? Electronics and gear everything stays the same?
Thanks!

Nice just what I wanted to hear! Thanks!
Since I'm not too versed in mechanics, a 3rd opinion is always good. Was just afraid of implications and complications further ahead. Thanks!

Why swap the bottom? Why not just make life simple and throw the whole lump in?

He sold the upper part of the engine to someone else and besides I already changed the internals of my upper part last year when I did the HG. Mechanic at the time told me it was from an 1.4, can't confirm though. I'll have to wait for my pal to take the engine apart and inspect it to know further details.
Will I notice a gain after that swap? I mean from 1.1 to 1.4? Don't worry, I know already not to expect Lamborghnini performance but coming from a 1.1... lol
Thanks!
