Hey all,

I have a Pug 206 2006 Verve 1.4 8v.

What sort of price would I expect to pay for a new one?

Thanks

Being the picky sort - I really hate it when people say this. Yes we all know what it looks like - but we all want to see the condition that yours is in!

Part is about £50 and then a couple of hours labour.

So probably looking at about £150-£180 for a garage to do it.

I know they only use genuine parts from PUG etc, normally thats a good thing, but I'm going to be selling the car soon.

I got AC Delco clutch and driveshaft seals for £50 and Cartoonhead fitted it while I waited.

I would say that somewhere between £150 and £200 all in from a garage (depending on labour rates).
You might be better off getting the clutch from a motor factors yourself and asking it to be fitted. At least then you are buying it at trade price, which can be upto 70% off the RRP, and you'll know it's a decent brand and not just a cheap crappy thing that is being palmed off as an expensive brand to try and increase the profit for the garage.

Edit. Just seen that they fitted a genuine Peugeot clutch (£151 or £180 with surcharge), so that would explain the high charge. Problem is that once a clutch is in, you can't see what make it is unless you take the box back out.

Yeah. I do trust the garage. But its just the fact that I'm not keeping the car.

Genuine Peugeot clutch?

There service exchange units normally if a Peugeot main dealer supplied it.
