Looking online I can get a Dayco Timing Belt Kit for £55, and a Gates kit for £65.
Water Pumps ion their own seem to go for anything from £20 onwards, yet a full kit seems to be £90/105.

Why such a big price difference? Would you recommend just getting the whole Dayco/Gates kit?

Then there's this but it looks a bit dodgy haha.

Any help is appreciated.

Gates was a genuine item before it went to others. I would go gen for the water pump or if not a circolli

Got mine from buypartsby.co.uk ... found them cheapest for lot at the time.

Conti belt kit I think ... but it was about three years ago ...

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Got the timing belt kit plus water pump from BuyPartsBy for £78 delivered.
Does mention its a Conti belt.

My mechanic has quoted me roughly £60 to change it.

NOTE THIS POST FOLLOWS OP'S BLUE LINK ON"Thetes these but they look a bit dodgy"this links to Redline parts....
These suppliers could be dodgy as including other things..they are advertising front brake shoes for a peugeot 206 2.0litre at £18.00ish???
NOTE thats brake shoes...and there's a picture as well..
Now i own a 206 2.0litre and as with most 206s i know they have discs and pads on the front AND on the back too for that matter...SO IM NOT SURE WHATS GOING ON THERE???GO TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF???

I don't bother with ebay for new parts now ... most of the shops are run by numpties tat can't spell so how do you know you will get the right part

TBH someone like BuyPartsBy, which is the internet shop of a proper motor factors in the Midlands, or carparts4less (which is actually ECP less about 20%) are my preference. You sometimes get a different make to that advertised but that when they are out-of-stock or just use a different supplier themselves. Normally good quality pattern parts though.

Rolling On The Floor Laughing

I understand what you mean about ebay shops. Quite a few have listings that are just copied and pasted from the manufacturer site. Even worse are the ones who won't let you collect an item. Normally this means that the item is located in China or Hong Kong. Always makes me laugh when they put Same Day Dispatch and then the estimated arrival date is in 10 days.

Dealers or Motor Factors for me. Dealing with someone face to face is always the best way. They get to know you and then eventually after a while, you can negotiate trade prices and get the same deals as the garages get.
