Afternoon all,

I have just purchased a 206 lx on a X plate. It has around 52k on the clock.

I would like advice on the following three problems.

1) The speedo and rev counter do not work. The speedo flickers top around 10 mph on accelerating and the just drops to zero. The rev counter does not move at all. The fuel gauge and temp gauge appears to be working fine as is the digital trip counter and mileage counter. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

2) There is an oil leak from the front right of the engine. If stood overnight I have a patch roughly the size of a fist. Im checking my oil level every couple of days and it seem ok at the minute.

3) When driving slowly and turning I get a knocking from the front drivers side wheel? No noise is apparent when driving at speed.

Any ideas / advice would be much appreciated.
Regards

Andrew

Your drivers side CV joint could be worn, I'd take that 52k with a pinch of salt as well.

Oil or gearbox oil, what does it smell like? Where exactly is it coming from?
