Hi all,

It seems my licence plate lights have a mind of their own and only work when they feel like it.

Whenever the initial and low beam lights are turned on the rear licence plate lights don't always come on.

All I do is tap the top part of the hatch boot lid and the lights turn on!

At first I thought the bulbs needed replacing but it seems like there might be something that's either loose or not connected right.

I have no idea on where to look or what I should be looking for without causing too much damage!

Any info or ideas on what could be causing this problem would be great.

Cheers

Hi bud. Go to the boot remove the black cover on the tailgate and remove the rear number plate light, held in with push close clips. Then have a look and see if water has got in there, might be a simple clean of the electrical connectors or a loose loom..

Thanks heaps mate. Is the black cover on the tailgate easy enough to remove?

Yes, start at a corner and give a tug then work your way round, plastic clips hold it on but do not get damaged.

Line the clips up with the holes when refitting, and give it a bang with your fist.
