Basically I managed to trap my only key in the kitchen door, bending it, straightened as best I could due to needing to get to work so had to jiggle the key to get it to turn over and removing the key once at work. Gets home and straighten the key out so it's straight again then this morning when I went to pop out, turned the ignition and the display flashed "engine immobiliser fault" but the car ticked over fine, turned the car off and took the key out then popped it back in and started the car up, this time, no message and stayed that way whilst I was out.
Is this error msg due to the key being bent slightly or is it something else, maybe the ignition itself due to having to jiggle the key in and out?

Open the key case and make sure the immobiliser chip hasn't been damaged or moved.

If its still got a bend I'd get a replacement. For one it's good practice to have a spare. And it's cheaper than having to replace the ignition barrel and ring!

Unfortunately when i bought the car it didn't come with a spare, already spoke to peugeot ref spare, they want £70 just for the key with a 2 week wait then however much to code it

Get the flip keys bud and then from there get your keys cut to suit. Then just order yourself a spare immobiliser chip for the spare key. I've done the same with mine.
