HI all, I've just gone to fill up my 206 gti hdi and when i got to the pump i couldnt undo the filler cap, the key goes in fine but it refuses to turn and undo. I've tried using copious ammounts of WD40 but its still not budging.
Any ideas as what i can do to fix this.

Hmm either way I would suggest trying it, Not boiling though as it could damage your paintwork.

Is it the right key? As in has it been used from another car with a different barrel?

Try silicone grease? Then put the key in and give it a tap to make sure it is fully in. If that does not work probably as above wrong key.

do you have the sp fuel cap?
when i got my 206 someone had fitted the sp cap wrong and was making it really hard to remove it, when i did get the cap off i had to remove the sp cap from the lock and refit it.
in the mean time just keep wiggling/turning and pushing in at the same time just dont got OTT as you might snap the key

Just spoke to the garage I bought it from and apparently it's the right key as he put fuel in it a couple of weeks ago

In my experience from buying cars from people "I put fuel in it a couple of weeks ago" could well be some of his finest bulls**t. With mine, which is the same kind of filler, sometimes I have to push the key inwards slightly as I am turning it but never requires too much force! As mentioned above you really do not want to snap your only key! Spend a good half an hour trying this and that and if it really won't budge and you brought it from a garage I would suggest it is their responsiblity to sort out.
