Hey, Everyone.
Before you all ask, "SIX GEAR 1.1 PEUGEOT!?!?" Yeah!! five gears forward, one reverse, haha! Hope that caught everyones attention and potentialy gained me more help.
My car originally, was being a bit of a women, didn't like doing what its told. I'd try get it into 1st and a few specific gears and it'd take a bit of man power to force it in.
Clutch went (slipping), replaced that for a new OEM part.
Then a few months later I noticed the problem was getting worse. I'd drive down the road and suddenly when the car gets to temperature (its mint when you first pull away, etc!) it started to refuse completely to go into gear. No amount of my man power (I'm rather girly) could get it into gear.
I then thought it could be gear linkages as they've got rubber parts and the heat from the engine could possibly of caused the problem. Replaced the compelte linkage system. I did notice an improvement in getting into gears and that, it worked well for a good half an hour (was a cold and rainy day, so the engine was running a bit colder?). Yesterday and today, it's gone back into its bad habit of refusing gears.
Any ideas what it could be?

I fully emptied the gear box of its oil (until it stopped coming out anyhow) and put in EP75W-80 which was recommended by a mechanic, and also in the 206 haynes manual for the 1.1 - I also put in 1.9 litres which was recommended on this forum, the haynes manual and also again, the mechanic.
I did a bit of driving and started having the problem, changed gear linkages and the problem still goes on. Do you think having too much, or not enough gear oil could be the cause?
I've had a second opinion and they've said its definitely internal to the gearbox. He has said there's possibly the chance of it being gear oil, so I'm going to check to see if its at the correct level.

It's the standard 1.1 gearbox:) nothing has been modified to it as far as I'm aware. Currently checking oil, etc now and will get back to you all.

Shouldn't effect gear changing as far as I'm aware?

Just drained the gearbox... had about 10 litres of oil come out!?!??! wtf!?!? I emptied it the other week and had 2 litres exactly come out. Put 1.9 in which is reccomended and now today I got s**t tonnes!

Didn't think it would hold 10 litres!
When my clutch was replaced, the mechanic just emptied the 2 1 litre bottles of gear oil into the box and has run fine. Recommended was 1.9, but by the time you take into consideration how much is left clinging to the inside of the bottle, the odd few millilitres overfilled isn't going to make that much difference.
My thinking on this problem is the gear selector forks inside the box (if it has them)
Easy way to eliminate the clutch being the problem is to go for a drive and make a few clutchless gear changes.
Out of interest, how easy/difficult is it to run through the gears with the car stationary and the engine off?

You can't get 10 litres in it unless it's poured into the box from the top and even then I don't think it's possible. The filler plug is also a level plug so once the 1.9/2.0 litres are in, anything over that flows back out ..
Got any oil in your engine? 
If you can't get it in gear it could be the clutch mechanism .. some are cable operated and should self-adjust as they wear, so rather than be hard to change gear it slips when you accelerate, and others are hydraulic and a leak will prevent the clutch from releasing and so the gears mesh preventing it from changing without some very nasty graunching noises ...

I found out it wasn't the clutch by simply driving the car purely with clutch (not throttle), you just find the biting point and see if it'll hold it, if it slips or doesn't bite, it's knackered:)

I'm not 100% sure how much it was, but it filled a 2 litre bottle, and another, then I just let it leak all over the floor!
Car is working mint again now! sounds a bit meatier than normal? won't complain though, haha!

for me it affect , but not sure mate on your proble, you using cable or hydraulic?

yes, if your hydraulic problem , when car engine off no problem to put the gear on..smooth
by the way could u post or pm me your vin code number..curios to know there is 6 speed 1.1, think this only on rally or gti-6 car
