Hi,

I have replaced my clutch cable as before there was no slack or space between the clutch pedal bolt and the pedal itself, the clutch pedal was also very high. higher than the brake.

After replacing the cable there is still no space between the pedal and the bolt so the pedal still touches the pedal bolt and there is a clicking noise as i press the pedal. if i pry the gearbox leaver then i can get a good pedal but then after a couple of pumps it goes real slack again and the clicking starts again.

It seems as the auto adjuster is past it but its a brand new cable. is there anything i am missing or should i get a new cable again.

also how does the cable prevent the pedal touching the bolt. as when the cable is off the pedal touches it anyway.

Thanks a lot

Tom

Hi,

I have messed about with the clutch cable again today. I managed to get a pedal by pressing the clutch down and the slipping my foot off the pedal and letting it fly up.

However the is not much free play ie. the clutch will slip if i press the pedal only slightly. and the pedal still touches the 13mm bolt.

Does anyone hnow how i can get the gap between the pedal and the bolt, as i am told that i need this gap for the auto-adjuster to work properly.

Cheers Tom

My clutch is playing up too. It works fine until it lifts the last few cms.........then it goes limp/ floppy! If that makes sense.

I had that problem too. Like the auto adjuster works and then decides to pack in for a moment. Seems okay now just the pedal still touches the bolt and there is not much free play in the clutch??

Any helps would be great thanks.

Tom
