Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advice. I'm fairly sure my gasket has gone on a car I bought a month ago (cry- this is my third car and third gasket, somebody doesn't like me!).

Symptoms this time:

Cream in cap (I don't know what this cap is but my garage showed me

Loss of power-especially pulling away

Huge plumes of white smoke (I've held my hand in front of smoke and my hand ends up soaking wet) - worse when going up hill, although the smoke is very intermittent

Car shaking when idling (quite bad on some days, other days completely fine)

Loss of water although this is intermittent too and there is an air pocket in there, sometimes it will hold water for 4 days, other days you'll lose 3 inches over night.

The only thing it doesn't have is oil in the water. It's had radweld in which helped loads until the above problems developed so the water is just brown.
Thank you

well you need a new head gasket, but also you need to check the coolant lines inside the head itself and check for fine cracks too
