After driving on the motorway yesterday for about 90 mins and after arriving at my destination I notice boot did not open except all 4 doors that did open. Checked remote cental locking and key however boot did not open.
Strangely after doing the return journey back and arrived home the boot did open.
Car is 206 1.4 8v TU3A Engine 2006 Verve.
What caused this problem?

I had that earlier, boot wouldn't open, locked it up again, then locked it, tried to open it, and it worked? think it's just a low battery on either the car, or your key. My key's battery is on it's last legs, so could be related to that?

Mine is the opposite. Won't lock with the central locking. I've had to close it down, get in the boot from the back seats and undo the latch rod to make it safe......won't UNDO now....full stop. New actuator needed I think. I hope you get yours sorted.

Well your boot motor might be weak,so spray some DW40 on the lock itself, and see how things goes.

I can't see why the boot-lock motor would care if the keyfob battery was weak?
This would just give reduced range and missed codes/

I know that this might sound like a daft suggestion, but have you removed the trim from the inside of the boot and checked whether its the motor or the handle that's faulty. Could be something very simple like a dodgy clip.
