Hey,
I have a 1.4 16v 2005 Quicksilver and find it hard searching for parts as the model "Quicksilver" is never used.
Apparently I need a new coil pack and have searched eBay and looked on that service box site which says that the 206 1.4 16v requires the 5970 85 coil pack so how can I be sure that it is right for my car?
I sent the mechanic a picture of it and he says it looks different.

I think you have to be careful with spark plugs and coil packs. Some of the guys on here will steer you in the right direction.
Have you tried carparts4less, ECP etc? You enter your reg then search for the part. I personally would not buy a coil pack from eBay.

Did you enter your VIN on servicebox? If you did, then that's the right part number.
IIRC, you have to be careful which make of coilpack you fit. Can't remember which one has issues, but it will be on the site somewhere.

The socket colour (on the coilpack) has to be the same for starters.
The connector colour of the loom which plugs-in might well not be the same as the coilpack socket colour - this is normal.
You have to get absolutely the right part as there's quite a few versions and it's not immediately obvious that you've put-in the wrong one.
Under these circumstances I would go for a genuine coilpack in it's sealed plastic bag, with the part code staring at you.

Hi In my opinion there are only two types of coil pack's and the connecting plug's are different colours and you must get the same colour as the old one.

I 'think' i have a brand new valeo one for sale if you intrested? Brand new and genuine, just the connector is a little broken but this does not harm it at all
